The director of Stellar Blade has defined that what gamers are describing as enter lag throughout sure strikes is a deliberate selection.

In an interview with 4Gamer, Kim Hyung-tae was requested in regards to the sport’s demo, and the topic of enter lag was introduced up.

Kim was requested why there seems to be a delay between urgent a button for performing an ideal parry or dodge, and the precise transfer being carried out.

He defined that it was a design option to preserve the animation clean, and stated there’s no precise enter lag becuse the talent is activated the second the button is pressed, even when the animation takes some time to play.

“In Stellar Blade, there’s a few 0.5 second lag between the second you press the button and the second the talent is seen on-screen,” he stated (as translated by Automaton). “It’s a time lag that may’t be diminished any additional.

“We made it in order that the character’s motion doesn’t get triggered instantly upon button press, as we felt this might not match the sport’s model of animation.

“Thus, we made it in order that the talent itself is activated the second you press the button, however the animation of the motion follows afterwards.”

Kim added that if suggestions reveals gamers really feel the delayed animations make the sport more durable to play, the studio might make adjustments sooner or later.

This may occasionally have already been partly addressed within the sport’s day one patch which, based on the sport’s official X account, fixes “the enter time for primary assaults, in addition to the timing of blocking and parrying to be extra responsive”.

VGC’s Stellar Blade assessment says the sport gives “each the right entry level into the Souls-like style and a refreshing refinement of the well-worn character motion components”.

“For individuals who wished that God of Warfare Ragnarok supplied a bit extra problem or that Bayonetta had a bit extra weight to its fight, this slick sci-fi slasher is the right tonic,” we wrote.
