Hades 2 developer Supergiant Video games says it has no plans to switch any of its voice solid, after one actor stated they had been involved strike motion could have an effect on their position.

Marin M Miller, who voiced such Hades characters as Athena, Tisiphone and Alecto, posted a message on Bluesky saying there was an opportunity they might get replaced within the sequel due to the continuing SAG-AFTRA strike, which began final July after the actors union it had failed to barter acceptable protections round using AI for its members.

“It’s doable you might hear me get recast in a selected sport that may be very fashionable,” Miller wrote. “If I’m, it was not as a result of I stepped away from the character willingly. It’s as a result of the employer refused to flip to an interim.”

SAG-AFTRA presently gives interim agreements between actors and employers, that are vetted by the union and, if authorised, permits them to carry out the position whereas strike motion is ongoing.

Clarifying that they had been referring to Supergiant Video games, Miller added that “it could be SUPER useful should you wrote a GIANT electronic mail asking them to flip for his or her actors”, requesting that followers ask the studio to implement an interim settlement.

Supergiant has now responded with an announcement on Bluesky, claiming its video games have by no means been topic to SAG-AFTRA contracts and that it hasn’t recast anybody within the sport.

“We’ve not recast any of our characters in Hades II, and want to hold working with each member of our fantastic solid,” the assertion reads.

“We’ve revered and can proceed to respect any actor needing to pause work through the ongoing SAG-AFTRA online game strike. Whereas none of our video games have ever been topic to SAG-AFTRA contracts for a wide range of causes, we want SAG-AFTRA one of the best of their negotiations to compel bigger signatory studios to supply the sorts of protections we predict actors deserve.”

Earlier this month Bungie confirmed that a number of the dialogue in its newly launched Future 2: Heresy content material is lacking because of the strike.

“As a result of on-going SAG-AFTRA strike, you might discover sure voice traces being silent in-game,” the studio warned gamers. “Nonetheless, we’ve enabled subtitles by default for this launch to make sure gamers don’t miss any narrative content material.”
