New Line has launched a trailer for Mortal Kombat 2, the upcoming movie adaptation of the combating recreation, set to hit cinemas on October 24.
The sequel sees the champions, now joined by Karl City (The Boys) as Johnny Cage, pitted in opposition to each other in a battle to defeat the darkish rule of Shao Kahn.
It was first introduced in January 2022 that Mortal Kombat 2 was in growth, following the success of the earlier yr’s film.
2021’s Mortal Kombat movie was helmed by Simon McQuoid, making his characteristic directorial debut. McQuoid returns for the sequel, which is written by Moon Knight’s Jeremy Slater.
City stars alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, with Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.
In 2021, McQuoid mentioned that Johnny Cage wasn’t included within the first film as a result of he would “throw it out of stability barely”, explaining that “he’s such an enormous persona that he nearly has his personal gravitational discipline”.
“I get requested about Kitana simply as a lot as Johnny Cage,” he added on the time. “There’s numerous fascinating characters, story, and materials to work with.”
