A movie adaptation of Sleeping Canines is reportedly canceled, in keeping with lead actor Donnie Yen.
The movie, which deliberate to adapt Sq. Enix‘s 2012 crime drama is now reportedly shelved, having first been introduced in 2017. The movie was deliberate to be produced by Neal Moritz, one of many names behind the Quick & Livid franchise.
Now, Donnie Yen has instructed Polygon that the movie is successfully lifeless.
“I spent numerous time and did numerous work with these producers, and I even invested a few of my very own cash into acquiring the drafts and a few of the rights,” Yen mentioned.
“I waited for years. Years. And I actually wish to do it. I’ve all these visions in my head, and sadly… I don’t know, you understand how Hollywood goes, proper? I spent many, a few years on it. It was an unlucky factor.”
Sleeping Canines was launched in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360. The open-world title was nicely acquired by critics and spawned a PS4 and Xbox One remaster and a spin-off multiplayer sport referred to as Triad Wars, which was finally cancelled in 2015.
Developed by now-shuttered Vancouver studio United Entrance Video games, Sleeping Canines follows an undercover police officer on a mission to take down harmful prison organizations.
